Max Cassidy Trilogy

Max Cassidy home MAX CASSIDY FACT FILE ABOUT PAUL ADAM ASK THE AUTHOR

This is Paul Adam’s gripping adventure series for younger readers, featuring teenage escapologist Max Cassidy.

The story is powerful and highly topical, centring on Max’s fight against global corporations that are destroying the environment, and his quest to bring his broken family back together again.

By day, 14-year-old Max is an ordinary London schoolboy, but at night he performs dare-devil escape routines as The Half-Pint Houdini, his skills learnt from his father, Alexander, who was a  world-famous escapologist.

But Max’s world has been turned upside down. His father has disappeared mysteriously in the Central American state of Santo Domingo. Alexander’s body has never been found, but Max’s mother, Helen, has been convicted of his murder and is serving out her twenty-year sentence in a British prison.

Convinced that his father is still alive, Max goes to Santo Domingo and uncovers a conspiracy by shadowy international businessmen and corrupt politicians to abduct leading environmentalists and sabotage the global campaign to protect the natural world.

But what does Max’s father have to do with it? And where is he? Max sets out on a search that takes him all over the world, but his enemies are right behind him and he must use all his skills as an escapologist to evade them.

The stakes are high, but Max will stop at nothing to find his father and free his mother, and to help save the environment from profiteering corporations – provided he can stay alive long enough.
